We wanted to install a fan in our daughter’s room since it’s the furthest from the air handler and gets warm in the summer time. This fan is what we decided on and it definitely punches above its weight class. I have installed half a dozen fans over the years and this was one of the easiest to install.
The directions are only pictographs which is both good and bad. Good in that they’re easy to follow and well done. Bad in that there are a few steps that could do with some explaining such as mounting the brace to the ceiling box. There also isn’t a parts inventory anywhere, so I may or may not have had a few things left over, but made sure all screws and wire nuts shown in the directions were installed.
This fan does not include any pull chains, which requires you to use the remote. Not a big deal in my opinion and the fact that it comes with a remote at this price point is fantastic. The remote includes a power button, three speed buttons, a timer with three options (2, 4, 8 hours) and the light button. I’ve definitely paid far more for fans that don’t have a remote. It also means that you don’t have to run electrical wires for wall switches. Just run a line of 14/2 to a ceiling box and you’re good to go.
The flush mount shroud is great because you don’t have to tuck all the wires up into the ceiling box. They just sit on top of the motor mount and get covered up by the shroud as seen in the photos.
This fan does not include light bulbs. Not an issue as the ones that are usually included with these things are subpar at best.
From start to finish the fan can be installed in an hour or so with the most time consuming part being trying to get the little screws that hold the light fixture in place into their holes with the blades in the way.
I do wish the blades were either black to match the rest of the fan or reversible.
This fan also moves quite a bit of air on the highest setting with no perceivable wobble and runs very quietly.
All in all it’s a great fan with a lot of great features for a bargain. I’d highly recommend it.

Good looking ceiling fan that was fairly easy to install. I really like the “cage” style enclosure for the lights, but is was hard to install with the little screws and my big fingers. It would be an improvement if the light housing had a slotted attachment like the fan motor housing. A second downside to the light cage is if you have to replace a standard size bulb, you will need to remove the housing since the bulbs won’t fit in the cage. Really like the remote feature but wish the light was adjustable instead of just on/off. Remote also features three speeds for the fan.

The box came damaged but the parts were perfect inside due to excellent packaging. The instructions came with easy to follow pictures and an additional sheet to describe the “Receiver” install (Pic below). I believe this step could have been completed by the manufacture as remote control fans come with them already installed. This seemed an unnecessary step for the consumer as its not optional. The installation went well and was straight forward until I arrived to the globe installation portion. The surface has a lip which makes it difficult to insert the three holding screws even with assistance. I ended up using two small rods to hold the globe up while I repeatedly tried to start the screw in the space provided. (pic below). The fan runs great, very quiet on low and medium speed. Hi speed is mostly wind noise and it moves the air well. The light fixture is rated for two 40 watt bulbs, they provide ample lighting. The unit is very good looking, appears well made and has a nice finish. The remote controller is easy to use and convenient. I based my star rating on the extra step installing a receiver and the difficulty in installing the globe assembly.

The fan looks great and was reasonably priced. It was engineered to be made inexpensive. It was not designed to be easy to install. Not a deal breaker but when the fan is missing two srews that hold the blades on, that is a problem. The box and included directions have absolutely no information on how to contact their customer service department. No phone number, no website, nothing! I now have two blades intalled with one screw and i have to go back to the
store to source two more screws. The fan was ordered online and shipped to our house, so i can’t go back to and swap the fan for another one.

I have installed several ceiling fans, and this was one of the easier ones. The instructions are given in pictographs with no words. That requires a little deciphering at times, but it’s not too bad as long as you pay attention to the direction the screwdriver is turning in the picture. The only challenging part of the installation I felt was the light fixture. There is a lip around the top of the fixture that covers the bottom of the fan, but it also mostly covers the screw holes that hold the fixture in place. Plan on dropping the screws a few (several) times when trying to get them in place.
This model is designed to be used in applications where the wall switch sends power to both the light and the fan. It can be used in applications with separate switches, but there will be trade-offs. It can be installed using only 1 of the wall switches, but then you have a dummy switch on the wall. Be sure you put a wire nut on the extra wire in the ceiling. It can be installed with only the fan wire running through the remote receiver. That will give you remote control of the fan, but the light will have to be turned on at the wall. Or it can be wired without using the remote at all, but since this model has no pull chains, you will have a fan that only has 1 speed (high).
The fan appears to be of good build quality, and the fan motor is fairly quiet. The light fixture is industrial/steampunk in appearance and has 2 bare bulbs surrounded only by a wire cage. That results in some harsh lighting and pronounced shadows, but if that’s the look you’re going for, you’ll be happy with this fan!

I ended up not using this ceiling fan due to the poor design and my inability to be confident in the workmanship of the design. The packing consisted of a cheaper foam but was packed in a way that I would believe it would have no issue in surviving a postal delivery to your house. This is the only fan I’ve come across that did not include light bulbs. The included remote module and remote is a nice and simple to integrate feature. The design of install is below ideal and this was by far the most complicated install I’ve done for a ceiling fan. For reference, I’ve installed between 20-30 fans of varying brands. The instructions were complicated and took a while to understand what they were telling me to do. However, about halfway through I got used to them and it was straight forward. I did not like the small gap allowed to do the wiring, and decided to let the whole fan hang via the ground wire to complete the wiring semi-supported by a helper. After installing, I found that the fan mounts were grinding against the very large cowling. After troubleshooting for quite a while I decided to remove the fan and replace with another. There is little room for error in this design. Overall, the materials felt cheaper, but fair. The large cowling was beneficial in covering up any blemishes in the ceiling near the electrical box. I would put more thought into the install.

I’ll have to begin by saying this will be a qualified review subject to modification. We are waiting to get the fan installed so my operational observation will have to come later.
This product was picked by us because of its low profile. It os being placed in a small bedroom with 8 foot ceilings so we needed a ceiling fan that “hugs” the ceiling as much as possible. With the dimensions given and then measured after receiving the product, it looks like this will be exactly what we need.
The box arrived with some slight damage to the card board but due to the substantial styrofoam packaging inside the box, the fan arrived undamaged. There were screws that worked themselves loose from the holes where the blades attach to the motor unit as well as the ceiling mounting bracket but they were all there. (See picture)
All other parts were accounted for. It looks like changing bulbs will be a bit “clunky” but doable without too much hassle. There is a remote control that doesn’t have a bracket to mount to the wall which would be nice. Remotes always have a tendency to get lost.
The installation instructions have no verbiage only pictures which seems to be the norm for these consumer based products that can be installed in a number of different countries. Certainly saves money on having several language translations but came sometime be difficult to discern some things like which some screw or bolt should be used.
Once we get this installed, I’ll post an update.

Purchased two of these fans. They are both on the same circuit breaker. They both go on at the same time and off at the same time. Can’t code the remotes because you have to have one fan and light off to program the one that is on. Which is impossible since they stay on together and off together. Contacted tech support and can’t leave a message.

I recently renovated one of bedrooms with a nice Amish bed. Then the bedroom furniture looked like crap. So built some end tables, shelves, desk, and even some Edison bulb lamps using White Oak and black pipe to give the room a rustic/industrial look. But the $5 brass light with plastic globe stuck out like a sore thumb. So I’ve been looking for a good rustic/industrial ceiling fan to match. I saw this one and fell in love. The blade color is Cherry which perfectly matches the rest of my furniture. The black metal housing and the wire cage around the bulbs was the perfect complement to the rest of the furnishings.
This thing is well-built. I browsed through a different local hardware store and saw a lot of rustic/industrial lighting, but nothing I would be willing to install even if you gave it to me. Most of it had plastic for the cages or plastic housings or plastic tubes made to look like black pipe. Most people wouldn’t notice, but to me they just looked cheap and in complete violation of the what rustic/industrial is all about.
There is no plastic visible on this fan. The housing is metal, the cage is real wire, the sockets and socket tubes are metal, and even the screws look like they came from the 1920’s. The blades are standard composite blade material, but they look really nice. I could make my own from real wood but I can’t imagine they’d look any nicer and would definitely warp/cup/sag and all the other bad things natural wood does which prevents them from being viable fan blade material.
Installation was pretty straight forward. Instructions were decent, probably better than average. It took me a bit of time to put Blue lock-tite on all the fan blade screws, which probably wasn’t necessary, but I know I’ll never have to tighten them again.
The maximum bulb wattage was 40 per bulb. My Edison bulbs that I used for my end table lamps were 60 watt, so I couldn’t use those, but I had a couple 5 1/2 watt LED Edison bulbs that were actually quite a bit brighter and still looked nice, so I used those. They put off a nice warm glow which goes well with a rustic theme.
The fan is nice and quiet. Excessive noise bothers me so I actually measure the sound output from an app with my phone 6 feet off the ground, directly under the fan. With no fan running, 29 dB. Low speed, 31 dB. Medium speed, 33 dB. High, 43 dB. I then measured the sound from the ceiling fan which I like and have slept under for 20 years and its numbers were 29-off, 31-Low, 33-Medium, 45-high. Very comparable.
You’re moving a lot of air on high. Low and Medium were almost silent. A very mild/constant electrical hum. Just enough for you to detect it was running. High speed had an audible pulsating (twice per second) hum that I didn’t care. My son sleeps in the room. He actually likes it on high and said he didn’t notice any hum.
The fixture comes with a remote. My wife wanted to leave the light control next to the door so she didn’t have to hunt around for it just to turn the light on. So I bypassed the remote control device in the fan housing and hooked the lights up direct to the wall switch. But the fan we allowed control with the remote. We can still shut the fan off with our second wall switch. When you turn the wall switch on, the fan returns to the last setting chosen by the remote (i.e. off, low, medium, high). I have to assume the light would work the same way, but since I bypassed it, I can’t verify that. It also appears the light has a dimming capability based on the instructions. But again, never tried it, can’t verify it.
The remote has 5 buttons controlling the fan: [ low, medium, high, off, fan-sleep-timer ]. The fan-sleep-timer has 4 settings: [ forever, 2 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours ]. Three separate LED’s light up to indicate which mode is chosen. Most people would likely just use ‘forever’ but I thought it was a nice feature. There is one button controlling the light. I assume quick press turns it on/off and maybe press and hold dims but can’t say for sure.
The remote also has a mount which I installed on the wall right next to where my son sleeps. I just found a stud and used two 1 ¼” drywall screws. The screws that came with the mount were only about ¾” long if I recall correctly. They’d be long enough to mount to wood, but I thought they might rip out if they only went ¼” into a stud. A normal person will screw it directly into the drywall and will likely be fine, but I like to overdo everything 🙂
In summary, I’m extremely impressed with this product. It is feature-rich, well designed, and made with quality materials, just like they used to make stuff. And It’s a perfect fit for our son’s room. We both love it. In fact, he’s chilling in his room doing homework right now with the fan on low.

I love the added style of a rustic look it brought to my son’s bedroom (he loves it as well). The dark color blades have a wood grain appearance though because they are so dark it is difficult to notice a lot of the grain. The blades are the same style on both sides. The matte black finish on the fan looks very nice. My son loves the exposed look of the light bulbs and they help to brighten up the room without adding higher wattage bulbs. The fan is very quiet in operation on all speeds. The remote works well and is responsive. The remote transmitter makes a distinct click when the speed is changed on the fan. The fan has an auto shutoff of 2, 4, or 8 hours. Not sure I’ll use this feature, but nice to have the option I suppose. Overall the install wasn’t too difficult though some of the included directions weren’t terribly helpful. The instructions include only pictures except for the remote instructions which are the most helpful when wiring the fan to the house and transmitter. Installation and removal of the old fan took about 2 hours with the additional challenges of forgetting where I put my screwdriver multiple times. The worst part was trying to get the light fixture attached to the fan assembly, the screw holes were challenging to get to line up at the angle I was working above the bed. The fan appears to be of good quality and I would recommend it to others looking for something with this style.

This review is for the Parrot Uncle model F6233 52” ceiling fan with remote.
The design is attractive because it’s not the cookie-cutter traditional styles that you commonly see with most fans on the market. The metal cage around the lights works well for both protection and aesthetics. The look really plays well in a game room or a mancave garage. If you have a living area that incorporates old brickwork this would also really complement the room.
Installation is pretty straightforward and is not much different that any other ceiling fan installation. The only difference is the ceiling mount. Most fans use a ball and cradle mount that compensates for uneven ceilings and unbalanced fans. This fan uses a rigid mounting panel that screws to a 2nd panel which is mounted to the ceiling. The nice part about this is the mounting panel is designed with extra holes for additional mounting screws, I don’t know how this will work over time if the fan ever gets out of balance.
The remote control also is handy if you have an area where there are very high ceilings or will be installing it where the 120vac is constant. I ended up installing in an area where the power was always present (no wall switch) and it worked fantastic for this sort of situation. The remote also has a wall mount holster. I mounted the holster by the light switch so I would never misplace the remote. The drawback is the light control is only on or off – the remote does not offer dimming levels for the lights. The remote uses standard 2 AAA batteries (not included).
I only rated this as 4 stars for several reasons: The rigid ceiling mount was a concern – I’ve installed enough ceiling fans in my life and have not seen this style for a long time. Eventually, a ceiling fan will develop balance issues, usually from being knocked, dust buildup, or just with age. If there is no room for wobble then this can put unnecessary strain on the motor as well as the ceiling mount. Also – The manufacturer supplied plenty of hardware, including washers, nuts, bolts, and plenty of wirenuts -but my sealed bags of hardware were not correct. I had extra screws and washers left over for mounting the fan blades but I was missing some washers for mounting the rigid plate to the ceiling.
Pros:
• The industrial cage over the lights is great for protection and looks great in areas such as game rooms, man caves, modern and vintage architectural styles, or finished garages.
• The remote control has a good range (20 feet) and controls different levels for the fan as well as being able to set a timer for 2, 4, or 8 hours.
• Wiring is very well labeled and is color coded, instruction sheet is simple diagrams showing each step of the installation.
Cons:
• Bulb sockets are each limited to 40w or below. This wattage is for the older incandescent so if you went with LED bulbs this would not be a concern.
• The ceiling mount does not incorporate a ball and socket style fan mount. The rigid mount to the ceiling box is not something one usually sees on a ceiling fan so I am not sure how it will handle the issues of a fan not hanging perfect or when it gets off balance.
• Remote controls different fan speeds but not different light levels. There is also no way to turn on/off the light or control fan speeds other than with the remote. If you lose the remote there is no way to control the fan speed.
• Fan blades are identical on both sides. It would have been better if one side was rough grey or black so there would be choices for installing.
• Fan must be installed with the light assembly. There was no plate included to cover the wiring if you did not want to install the light cage.

We installed this in our laundry room. We needed a reversible fan with a remote control for the light fixture. It does have a switch to reverse blade rotation and the light fixture takes a standard medium base bulb. I used two 60 watt equivalence LED bulbs. The installation procedure is different from any other fan that I’ve installed but very easy and you don’t have to handle a lot of weight mounting it. I don’t think any homeowner or handyman would find it difficult to install. The remote controls all three fan speeds, the on/off light function and has a built in timer, for a laundry room we’ll be using the timer for fan function
