We had a box on the kitchen ceiling with 2 fluorescent fixtures and plastic diffusion panels. I did not want to replace another ballast, so pretty much had only one fixture/2 tubes operational. This LED fixture worked: clean lines, low shadows, good light temperature, reasonable install.
GOOD:
1. no bad shadows. we tried modeling cans and hanging fixtures, but shadows were always harsher.
2. can tune the color setting. you can do this while it is hanging from the cables in daylight then repeat in the night.
3. reasonable install. before I took the old box down, I could suspend this unit and move it around to find the least shadows around the kitchen work areas (can also adjust color this way). Then commit to a location. I tried to have at least 2 fasteners into joists.
3. no issue with nonflat ceiling (some mentioned a washer for spacing, which I added) or cable letting loose. The cable fittings are solid. I left it hanging while painting. The safety pin works.
WATCHOUTS:
1. the fixture is not symmetrical! The safety pin is only on one side and the cables on the other. The wiring is towards one end.
2. The dimmer I got has a different wiring pattern than the old 3-way switch. Lutron LED+ Dimmer AYCL-153P. Makes sure to read the embossed text at each connection point.
3. The dimmer buzzes at low settings and does not maintained the brightness: set low, turn on, quiet then buzzing increases (but less than a bad ballast), then after some time it gets full bright. Move the slider all up and buzzing stops. Turn off the light to start the cycle again.

I had a Lithonia CPAN-L fixture and really liked everything about it except that its warmest setting, 3500 degrees, was way too cool and office-like for our traditional kitchen. Didn’t want to risk another disappointment with one of the 3000 degree fixtures available, so I bought these Good Earth Fullerton ones that go down to 2700 degrees, which turned out to be perfect.
The fixture itself is nicely designed and manufactured, inspires confidence.
Unlike the Lithonia fixture, it does not have a built-in junction box, so a 3-1/2″ octagonal junction box in the ceiling is required, which can be a problem if not new construction. Dunno if it would meet local code, but if the bracket is mounted with toggle bolts, it will support the junction box.
The bracket can be supported by the junction box and drywall anchors at the corners of the bracket, or, if the junction box isn’t solidly mounted, by toggle bolts at the corners of the bracket.
Like previous reviewers have warned, the mounting bracket and method is pretty lame, especially compared with the Lithonia. The bracket has four tabs that go into slots in the fixture, then you slide the fixture about 1/4″ to the side so that the fixture slides into slits in the tabs.
The first gotcha is that while the fixture can be rotated 180 degrees and still lock onto the bracket, only one orientation will cause the hole in the side of the fixture to line up with a hole in a tab for the locking screw; this isn’t mentioned in the instructions. Tip: With the fixture face down and the bracket locked on, make sure that the hole in the fixture lines up with a tab hole, and mark the fixture and bracket for reference when mounting.
The second gotcha is that if the ceiling isn’t absolutely flat, or if anything else causes the bracket to flex when it’s mounted, the tabs won’t line up with the slots in the fixture. Tip: After the bracket is mounted, before trying to mount the fixture, measure the distance between the tabs to make sure it’s exactly the same as the distance between the slots in the fixture (11-1/2″ on my fixture) and bend the tabs if necessary. If the tabs go in but the fixture won’t slide in, try prying the tabs down from the ceiling slightly.
The THIRD gotcha is that, at least in the case of the fixture I got, the head of the locking screw wouldn’t go into the pocket on the fixture frame, preventing the provided plug from being used. I guess you could grind down the screw head.
On the upside, unlike the Lithonia, the fixture mounts fairly tight to the ceiling for a nicely finished look.
Allow about 12″ of wire from the junction box for ease of wiring. Forget about trying to get wires back into the junction box, there’s plenty of room for them in the enclosed area of the fixture. Make sure the wires are within the enclosed area of the fixture when you mount it.
Overall the installation is much more difficult than it should be, but the result is worth it. The fixture looks great, light is even over the diffuser and in the illuminated area, and it dims nicely on a Lutron Toggler LED dimmer.

Installed this light in my kitchen, replacing a florescent fixture. It’s really bright, and I’ll probably get a dimmer for it, but it produces a pleasant light in various temperatures. Overall, I’m happy with it.
A few notes on installation, though: The light slides onto a bracket that you install on the electrical box, but also comes with four drywall anchors to further attach the bracket to the ceiling. The included anchors are the absolute worst. They’re those plastic “self-drilling” auger-style anchors that screw into the drywall and then you turn a metal screw into them. They’re made out of really soft plastic though, and just deform as they’re driven in, instead of biting into the drywall. Do yourself a favor and get some real anchors. I used some togglers, which worked much better. I’ll also echo the advice from other reviews, putting a washer between the ceiling and the bracket makes sliding the light onto the bracket much easier. You can also use multiple washers if you need to shim to compensate for an uneven ceiling.
The last thing to note: The bracket is not symmetrical, and the light only slides onto it one way. There are arrows on the top side of the light that indicate which way it should slide onto the bracket. (Technically it’ll slide on both ways, but the locking screw that goes in through the side after the light is mounted won’t have anything to screw into, so the fixture can fall if it’s nudged off the bracket.) This means that if you want the locking screw hole to be on a particular side (like if you want it towards a wall where it won’t be seen as often), you need to plan out which way to mount the bracket. If you’ve already put the drywall anchors in and try to turn it around, the holes won’t line up. The plug for the locking screw hole makes it look a little nicer, but you’ll want it on a less-seen side, if you can. I feel like this is a design error. They could have made the bracket so the light can be flipped around without making new holes.
So, overall it’s good, but only 4/5 because of the awful drywall anchors and the asymmetrical bracket.

Excellent light output. OK instructions, but should be read carefully. Reasonably well made. Installation was fairly simple with two exceptions. As with my smooth ceiling, most ceilings are not perfectly flat and thus, you can expect some gaps between the decorative frame and the ceiling with no real way to correct this. The final step of attaching the fixture to the mounting plate by inserting the tabs into fixture can be difficult if you have snugged the mounting plate too close to the ceiling. While it can be done by one person, having a helper would be good.

This light has solid hardware. Well thought out except for one item….the fixture wires are very short and will need splicing with fixture wire to reach most electrical outlets when it is hanging from the two chains. Impossible to wire it in without hanging it from the chains. You need to carefully follow the install instructions. In particular the part about closing the fixture up once it is wired and ready. Stand on the side away from the chains and raise it so the chain side tabs slot in. It is then easy to close and slide back

Could not get it to close. Slots did not match.

Installation very straightforward and easy enough for one person. From most of the installation issue reviews I read they had an atypical location/ceiling surface or some other anomaly. if your ceiling is typical like most are you will have no issues. Have ours set on the middle setting as the others were too warm or too white. it is also much brighter than the 2 bulb fluorescent fixture it replaced. Couldn’t be happier. More importantly the wife couldn’t be happier.

Great light to replace the old light fixtures throughout my house. Buy 4 extra washers to put in between the ceiling and the mounting plate to have it install easier

Love the light and ability to change the bulb settings. Replaces an old industrial fluorescent fixture in my kitchen with this sleek, low profile one. Wished I would have done it sooner with my 8 ft ceilings. It was a little tricky to align hooks and slide in place by myself, but it can be done.

We had the fixture installed by an electrician and it has been functioning well. The old fixture was fluorescent and I had over the years purchased extra tubes which I had needed a few times. When i went to return my new and unused spare tubes, I was told they could not be returned since I had purchased them more the 90 days before. Since I have no idea when they were purchased (no receipt),I am now stuck with three (useless to me) fluorescent tubes that I’m sure I paid a good price for in the past. Since you still carry these in stock, I am disapointed with this result.
