I was removing a broken Tork 1104 (4 terminals) to an EWZ103 (6 terminals) for a pool pump and pool water heater. The diagram was not enough for both uses. I brought in a licensed electrician who still took almost one hour (to figure it out) which he did. With lack of instructions and no U-tube on it, I decided to hire the electrician. Programing was not easy either; the instructions are “just OK.” Now everything works fine. Also no Warranty card in the box. It is one year.

So I just put in a Salt water inground pool and I have 3 main pieces of equipment I needed to work in harmony. The first is a Hayward Super Pump VS700 variable speed. 2nd is Hayward aquarite salt chlorinator, 3rd is a raypak gas heater. The pump has its own controller so when I programmed it, I needed to make sure the heater and salt generator power off whe pump isn’t running. This timer works perfectly for that. All 3 pieces are 220v so wired it to only switch one leg of each piece of equipment. The pump isn’t wired through this controller since it has its own controller. So you set this timer clock time to match the pump time or current time. Then set this controller to shut of the other pool equipment every time the pump shuts off. Simple. Works great. I definitely recommend this I’ve a 500 pool controller.

A good, solid astronomic timer. The installation instructions are very limited, because they want you to have an electrician install it. You can find good guides online, though. Programming isn’t the most intuitive, but not too bad. I replaced an old Tork non-astronomic timer with this one and am looking forward to not having to manually adjust the sunset times all the time!

This is a decent timer. It’s fairly easy to install will some basic electrical knowledge. it took me a little bit to figure out how to program the unit but it wasn’t overly difficult.
Keep in mind the box is plastic. Yes its weather resistant but as far as durability, it’s not the unit I’d expect to last 20 years. The plastic latch makes me question the integrity. If it was something you needed to open and close often, I’d be worried. Fortunately you shouldn’t have to access it much.
Overall this is a good product, but it’s made in China and plastic.

Chose this timer to replace the 35+ year old mechanical timer for pool pump, pool heater and salt water chlorinator for our swimming pool. Timer itself works great, easy to install and program. Unfortunately, it did not work for me because there is no fireman’s switch to turn off the burner on the heater prior to the pump shutting off to allow the heater to cool. Definitely do not recommend this timer for a pool pump with a heater.

This is a fantastic unit for managing all types of electrical timer needs, without being a temporary in-line solution. I’d much rather have a base unit like this to control my timed electric needs than try to depend upon unreliable, single line electric timers. Highly recommend!

I originally purchased this to replace a mechanical pool timer, but ended up going a different direction and this timer became an upgrade for my landscape lighting. So the application went from 240 VAC and multiple timed events to 120 VAC with astronomical timing. The installation was super easy and the programming required only a few minutes.

I installed this on my 1200 pound per day ice machine because I only use it for ice on weekends and use to have to remember to turn it on, I have it set to power up on Thursday eve and by say morn my Ice machine is full and ready for the weekend! Great product and easy to operate !

I used these to replace the older design Intermatic mechanical timers. The Tork are easy to install and setup. The housing is plastic so longevity should be good. The astro feature turns on the lights at sunset and off at sunrise. There is an override allowing you to adjust those times. And, several other program times if desired. The Tork includes a backup capacitor. So, if power is lost your settings are safe for up to four days. These are set and forget.

Timer works great but the instructions leave a lot to be desired. The people that write them should see if their family members can comprehend them. Parts of the instructions are missing or inconclusive!

The instructions do not tell you but it is necessary (do to the fact the switched circuit is just a dry contact) a jumper must be installed between L1 (line input) to the L1 switch (dry contact)

This product has some cool features like programming it to turn on your lights/devices to turn on at sunset & back off at sunrise. You can also combine this feature with custom programming to turn it on at sunset and off at a custom time or vice versa. There are also 10 custom programs you can utilize. The only drawback is the simplistic controls that are reminiscent of 80s technology.

I am a licensed master electrician.
I have been using this model of timer for over ten years. I have approximately 100 of them installed. I have only replaced two that were defective. I am very pleased with this timer. The astronomical feature is great for exterior lighting. It always cycles the lights at the perfect time. Just set it and forget it. I have done it so many times that I can do the astronomical programming in less than two minutes. I highly recommend this device.

The controller is very easy to configure. There is a video online that walks you through it all. It is rated much better than I need for my setup, but I’d rather have better than not enough. The housing is very weather resistant. I have not had any water penetration issues. Don’t forget that if you set events for on and off, make sure you have to days set correctly on each also. The astronomical feature is great for dusk to dawn. It auto adjusts with each day, as long as you have the date set correctly. I replaced an old mechanical type with this one. The mechanical ones are tough and last a long time, but the trigger clips would sometimes loosen up and drift. With the digital, it is always correct. I’m not sure it will last as long as the mechanical type, but it is worth the risk for the convenience and accuracy.

During installation there were jumper wires we needed to install to get our receptacles and outside lighting working that was not referred to in the wiring diagram. We found out about it on YouTube. Once installed it was easy to program.

This timer is easier to set than the old mechanical timers. Hook up and mounting was easy to do. This timer so far works good. I have had other types that would stick on a certain time and not function properly. The case that comes with timer is very heavy sturdy for outdoors.

This is a simple timer which is designed to be used either indoor or out. It is not what most people would call “home-owner friendly, in that it is designed for installation by a professional electrician. (Or a very knowledgeable amateur) This switch will carry two 115-120V circuits or one 208V circuit. Both circuits are activated at the same time. The main claim to fame for this timer is its ability to turn off or on at dusk or sunrise based on the time of year and your latitude. It even deals with the issue of Daylight Saving Time and leap years. It has 7 day programming and a 4 day backup in case of power failure. Excellent for turning lights off and on or possibly powering pumps which require periodic cycling.

3-stars for the hassle…the off position tripper kept jamming & would not trip the switch to the off position, consulted with Tork Customer Service, was advised to uninstall & return the timer; bought another one, installed it & it is working fine

Sill installing. Mounting the box and connecting the 220v conduit is a lot of work. Installing the actually timer is trivial.

automatically adjusts the on off timer to match the sunrise sunset times based on latitude location.

I like this timer. It can controls anything and you can program it for 7 days of use. It’s completely digital so setup is really easy. It’s indoor and outdoor with a waterproof enclosure. This requires a electrician to install. I would recommend this product for anybody that is setting up something that needs to run a timer such as landscape lighting and or parking lot lights.

I used it to make 2 switched outlets for Christmas lights. I used 2 corded 3-prong sockets from a popular discount hardware store, for about $2 each, and cut a PC type of line cord for the plug and wire. You could spend a lot more using conduit and sealed outlets, but I am not permanently mounting it, so I don’t need all that.
For $99, I thought it could have been more well done from packaging and connection viewpoints. Here are the Pros / Cons:
Pros:
Simple interface, weather resistant IPxx box, terminal strip connections, backup super-capacitor, can do 2 channel 120V or single channel 240V, up to 40A (non-inductive lighting load), can do up to 20 on/off daily events (seems like more than sufficient), PC board not protected when module is removed from box (could have a back cover). Time is backed up by supercap (like a permanent rechargeable battery).
Cons:
Interface & instructions were not clear on how Astronomical vs. Timed ON/OFF works, additional jumpers and connections need to be made outside of the terminal strip, box is not sealed but claims to have an IP rating- the plastic box has interlocking features at the edges, but there is no true seal, which can be good & bad, other options seem to be less expensive.
Summary:
It works well, but seems like $99 is too high of a price point for this piece of equipment. Seems like ~$30 in parts, depending on qty built (~1k est). I had to add neutral jumper wires to the terminal board, and had to make ground connections in the box with a wire nut (no landing spot inside/non metal box). I used the bottom knockouts, but there are also one on each side. To make the wire clamps truly waterproof, some silicone caulk / RTV would need to be applied.
I couldn’t tell if the Astronomic or the timer was governing the ON/OFF. Seems like whichever comes first. I added them both in the setup (Latitude + 5PM ON and 10PM OFF), and it turns on at Astrnomic sundown (currently ~4:26PM) and OFF at 10PM timer. Not clear how to use only one or the other.
I needed it to use instead of a ~$29 smart socket because they are not typically made for outdoor temp range and/or weatherproof. They do make one for about $30 that is, which in my case would have been a better choice. This one is better for a permanent install. So, I think design and price could improve (although they do have a $50 version, too), but overall worked well.
